Light Play was a light installation covering Dundas Square, commissioned to be the centrepiece of Toronto’s city-wide Luminato Festival in 2008. It was produced by the architecture firm KPMB with Brad Hindson acting as Project Architect.
Throughout the duration of the festival, the busy performance site was canopied by over 200 illuminated balloons, each 4 to 6 feet in diameter, that changed in colour in response to the music on-stage and the volume of the cheering crowd. The piece was documented on the Discovery Channel’s Daily Planet program.
